This is a kutni weave saree with six kol and single warp body. The body has traditional shades like patchai, orange, arrakku/ maroon and badam colour ( colours of Navratri). The body has thick kattams (squares) woven on them. They are handwoven using the exclusive technique -Satin on top, Cotton in bottom - its the same technique with silk base with satin weaves to create the unique satin border that makes this recognizable. This type of weave makes the border look more brighter since the density of silk used in the border is high, since the thread count used in kutni border is three times more than in regular silk sarees.
The uniqueness of the saree is seen on the palla. The pallu has Rudraksha Odisha style and fish motifs Odisha style with pure zari lines.
Weaving Kutni is an intricate task where the weaver handles delicate silk yarns that are placed very close.
***Weaving of a saree is always done on the reverse***
