This exclusive Kanjivaram saree in a delicate shade of orange, peach is meticulously handwoven with elegant checks in orange, peach and badam hues, adorning the body of the saree. The borders in meenakshi/purple showcase a captivating dual design, featuring a pure zari border with motifs reminiscent of a bygone era and a thread work border in green echoing the same motifs. The pallu, crafted in a harmonious blend of colors, presents alternating zari motifs of elephants and lions riding bicycles, village girls engaged in spinning and dancing, and a heartwarming scene of a tiger befriending a peacock.
Drawing inspiration from a historical piece discovered in the archives of the weavers' society, this design was originally sketched in the early 1950s and subsequently woven using the Adai technique in the 1960s. In the 1980s, it was adapted for jacquard weaving. After extensive consultations with experienced weavers from the surrounding villages, we have meticulously recreated the main body of the saree in mini kattams, ensuring its authenticity and preserving the traditional craftsmanship.
