A museum recreation in brown is an interpretation of kodali karppur hanging in the national museum.
Once woven only for the queens and nobilities of the Tanjore court, Kodali Karuppur textile is an extraordinary combination of jamdani and dye painting, found by the Maratha rulers of Thanjavur. Because of the highly skilled labour involved, the craft disappeared with the advent of royalty in the country.
We at Svasthi sarees have successfully woven an interpretation of kodalikarppur in dark brown silk base, gold rudhrasham pett zari borders and beautiful kodalikarpur pallu!
